Choosing the Plastic Surgeon for Your Needs

There are certainly plenty of options if you're looking for plastic surgeons in Orlando and the surrounding areas. Selecting one should be based on various factors. To start with, you should find a surgeon with extensive experience and training on the specific procedure that you want.
If you are considering a facial rejuvenation procedure, it's a good idea to select a board-certified facial plastic surgeon with a track record of achievements and satisfied patients.
Personal recommendations are also important, if you know someone who has undergone a similar procedure with the surgeon. Or you can ask your family doctor and other medical professionals for a referral. Once you have some names, schedule consultations and have a list of questions ready for your appointment. It's important to note how the surgeon's team, including his staff, responds during your initial visit. Are they welcoming and able to answer questions?
Some of the questions to ask during your consultation include:
- How often does the surgeon perform the procedure you want?
- What is the surgeon's specific specialty?
- Where will the procedure be performed? If it's at the surgeon's office, is the facility accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF)?
It's also important that you feel comfortable with the surgeon and that he or she spends time getting to know your personal needs. Does the surgeon seem friendly, yet professional and knowledgeable? Choosing a plastic surgeon to meet your needs may seem overwhelming, but ultimately the decision is one you should make with confidence.
