3 Secrets to an Ageless Face

To look naturally refreshed and younger, it's important to look at the big picture rather than rely on a single procedure. As a facial plastic surgeon serving Orlando, FL, I offer a "component facelift" that focuses on 3 aspects of an aging face to create more comprehensive results. Those components are:
- Skin condition: Your overall skin condition plays a major role in how healthy and youthful your complexion looks. Factors such as age spots, redness, sun damage, or scarring can cause your skin to appear older than it really is. To correct these issues, I repair the skin using non-surgical treatments including lasers, intense pulsed light, chemical peels, or microdermabrasion. These procedures can restore healthy, glowing skin with regular sessions.
- Volume loss: More and more surgeons are recognizing the importance of volume in creating an ageless face. Volume provides the look of soft facial contours that are commonly associated with youth. For this reason, I often use fat grafting during a component facelift to address areas of facial fat loss (such as under the eyes or in the cheeks). Dermal fillers can also be used after surgery to maintain the effects.
- Sagging skin and wrinkles: Unfortunately, gravity takes a toll on us all and causes our skin to descend downward. Collagen and elastin also break down with age, resulting in wrinkles on the forehead, around the eyes, and near the corners of the mouth. I address these issues by re-suspending the underlying muscles and tissues for a naturally lifted look. This also improves the appearance of facial folds and creases in the lower face.
