Non-Ablative Laser Skin Resurfacing

Genes, aging, and conditions such as acne can result in a variety of skin imperfections. Non-ablative fractional laser skin resurfacing in Orlando has become a popular way for men and women to rejuvenate their skin with increased comfort and long-lasting rejuvenation results. This procedure uses laser light to renew the skin from within, protecting surface layers of skin while stimulating new collagen growth below. It can be used safely on all skin types and a variety of areas of the body.

Fractional laser resurfacing works by creating micro tunnels in the skin. Each tunnel stimulates the production of new collagen. The fractional laser leaves islands of skin intact for faster healing. Ask about combining our 1540 non-ablative fractional laser with our 2940 ablative fractional resurfacing laser to maximize your result.

With fractional laser resurfacing, our patients receive the benefits of traditional laser resurfacing but with less risk of pigment changes in the skin or prolonged redness. At Hillcrest Plastic Surgery, we use this rejuvenating treatment to:

  • Improve your skin tone
  • Enhance your skin texture
  • Minimize lines and wrinkles
  • Tighten the skin
  • Make acne or surgical scars almost invisible
  • Treat stretch marks

Your Treatment

Before your laser skin resurfacing treatment, we'll meet with you personally and explain the procedure in detail. You'll also receive specific instructions to follow after your treatment. We provide this consultation to make sure we understand your goals and can recommend a treatment that makes sense for you. Prior to your skin resurfacing treatment, you will need to:

  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning
  • Discontinue any use of Retin-A
  • Halt any medications that cause sun sensitivity or increase bleeding

Depending on the size of the treatment area, the procedure takes only about 30 minutes. A topical anesthetic may be applied prior to the treatment to maximize comfort. For patients with a low pain threshold, we offer the option of intravenous sedation from our board-certified anesthesiologist. This allows our patients to have a pain-free experience.

Laser skin resurfacing can be combined with other skin rejuvenation treatments including ablative laser therapy, IPL treatments, and BOTOX® Cosmetic. Using a combination of fractional and ablative lasers helps to maximize treatment outcomes while minimizing downtime.

After the Treatment

Most patients experience only a very slight sensation that's similar to a sunburn, with mild swelling. These symptoms typically last 2 to 3 days. Usually, our patients are ready to resume all of their normal activities the day after their treatment.

Depending on your concerns, several treatments may be needed for optimal results. We typically perform these treatments about a month apart.

We look forward to helping you look your best with facial rejuvenation in Orlando. Learn more about this treatment when you request a consultation or call us at 407-999-2585.
