Dysport™ Treatment in Orlando, FL

BOTOX® Cosmetic has become a tremendously popular medical spa skin care treatment to reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles (those caused by repeated facial expressions). Now, patients have another "no downtime" option for treating these concerns at our practice in Orlando. Dysport™ is a similar formulation – often called a cousin to BOTOX – approved for the same uses as BOTOX.

Like BOTOX, Dr. Spence can use Dysport to treat many age-related issues, including:

  • Vertical frown lines
  • Forehead furrows
  • Crow's feet
  • Descending brows
  • Unsightly neck bands
  • Drooping corners of the mouth

The skilled use of Dysport can take years off of your appearance, with results that are natural-looking, but noticeable. Feel free to browse through our Before and After Photo Gallery.

How Dysport Works

Dysport has the same basic mechanism of action as BOTOX Cosmetic, as both are made with purified forms of the botulinum toxin. Dysport, like BOTOX, blocks nerve impulses to the tiny muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles, temporarily relaxing them. This releases the tension in the skin, resulting in a smoother, younger appearance.

Your Procedure

Dysport is FDA-approved for the treatment of vertical frown lines between the eyes. However, other "off label" uses are left to the physician's discretion, and an experienced plastic surgeon such as Dr. Spence can improve other areas with Dysport as well. Dr. Spence performs injections in the forehead and eye area, as well as in the neck and around the mouth. Dr. Spence will discuss all of your options with you, and help you decide whether or not Dysport is the right choice.

Dysport seems to take effect more quickly than BOTOX, with results visible in 1 to 2 days, as compared to 5 to 7 days with BOTOX. Results of Dysport and BOTOX last approximately 3 to 4 months. Both treatments are repeatable.
