Your Treatment
Before your laser skin resurfacing treatment, we will discuss what to expect and provide specific instructions to follow after your treatment. We provide this consultation to deliver as closely as possible the beautiful results you are seeking.
Prior to the treatment, in some cases, Dr. Spence may recommend that you take medication for cold sores. In addition, you will need to:
- Discontinue smoking a minimum of six weeks prior to treatment
- Avoid sun exposure and tanning
- Discontinue any use of Retin-A
- Halt any medications that cause sun sensitivity or increase bleeding
Depending on the size of the treatment area, the procedure takes only about 30 minutes. Laser skin resurfacing can be combined with other skin rejuvenation treatments including BOTOX® Cosmetic and IPL treatments.
After the Treatment
Most patients enjoy the beautiful results they desire after only 1 to 2 treatments. About 7 days are usually required for complete recovery.
