Belly fat can be challenging to shake off — no matter how hard you exercise or how healthy your diet is. Our board-certified surgeons — Dr. Kenrick Spence and Dr. Fernando Ovalle — proudly offer lipoabdominoplasty surgery in Orlando to address stubborn stomach fat. The procedure removes fatty tissue and excess skin in the abdominal area.

The Benefits of Lipoabdominplasty

This procedure removes stubborn pockets of fat surrounding your abdomen and strengthens the surrounding muscles, allowing for improved posture, a straighter spine and the ability to take deeper breaths. A stronger core can also help relieve pressure from joints in your legs.

If you have recently lost a significant amount of weight but are finding it hard to get rid of the fat around your stomach, this procedure can tone or redefine your body's shape.

…..I cannot thank you enough for my recent surgery. I would describe the outcome as absolutely perfect and emotional impact is more than I could have hoped for. The confidence I feel as a result of my procedure has allowed me to become the person I always knew I could be. I am enjoying my life so much more and making the most of everyday. I was so impressed with your staff throughout the entire process. Ever member of the team that I interacted with from the initial call to my follow up visits, was knowledgeable, courteous and extremely professional. Since my procedure I have been doing very well. I have joined a gym and started exercising regularly and I eat healthier too. I’ve started to live a healthier, happier life. It is ironic how something artificial can suddenly make you feel so real. I could not be happier! Thanks for everything!!!!!

Our Process for Lipoabdominoplasty

The lipoabdominoplasty procedure begins with liposuction. Our surgeons will saturate fatty tissue with a saline solution and then remove fatty deposits with suction. Next, your surgeon will perform a traditional tummy tuck. This procedure creates a more defined waistline to help you feel more confident in your own body.

Frequently Asked Questions

Lipoabdominoplasty combines a tummy tuck and liposuction in the abdominal region. This body contouring procedure helps to remove excess skin and fatty deposits in the tummy area. We first remove fatty tissue with liposuction and then perform a tummy tuck to remove excess skin and tighten the overall appearance of the tummy.

Dr. Spence and Dr. Ovalle are specialists in this procedure and can give you the look you want.

Patients who can maintain realistic expectations will benefit the most from this treatment. The ideal candidate for a lipoabdominoplasty procedure:

  • Is in good health
  • Does not smoke
  • Does not experience weight fluctuations
  • Is not struggling with underlying health conditions
  • Is not pregnant (Women who plan to have children in the future should know that if they undergo lipoabdominoplasty, the results may be undone when they get pregnant.)

Lipoabdominoplasty is meant to remove stubborn fat while lifting and tightening the skin around the abdominal region. Though it does help patients feel and look slim, this procedure is not meant to remove a lot of weight and should not be considered an alternative to natural weight loss through diet and exercise.

As with any surgery, the lipoabdominoplasty procedure can have a few risks. These include:

  • Bruising
  • Swelling
  • Scarring
  • Redness
  • Tenderness
  • Pain to the touch
  • Soreness
  • Damage to the tissue
  • Infection

Following your procedure, you might experience soreness, redness, swelling and some tenderness in the first few days of recovery. However, if you experience more serious side effects, such as infection, it's essential to address them immediately.

After your surgery, your surgeon will install drains and bandage the surgical area. You can return home on the day of your procedure.

We'll give you a compression garment to wear for six weeks to help reduce swelling. One of our surgeons will thoroughly explain how to care for your surgical area. They'll also inform you about the physical activities you can do and those you should not do. They'll help you form a realistic expectation for your healing time — most patients start seeing results a few months after surgery.
