Lipoabdominoplasty

No matter how much you eat healthy or exercise, sometimes losing weight in the abdominal area can be challenging. The stomach area is where a lot of stubborn fat can develop, and even with the proper nutrition and workout, people find it hard to lose weight in that region. At My New Beauty, we proudly offer our patients our new lipoabdominplasty treatment to help eliminate body fat in your abdominal region and look and feel better than ever.

What Is Lipoabdominoplasty?

Lipoabdominoplasty is the combination of a tummy tuck and liposuction in the abdominal region. The body contouring procedure helps to remove excess skin in the tummy area, and also helps remove fatty deposits as well. The fatty tissue is removed with liposuction, and then a tummy tuck removes excess skin and tightens the overall appearance of the tummy. Dr. Kenrick Spence and Dr. Fernando Ovalle are specialists in this procedure and can give you the look you want while providing the best care for your needs.

Who Is the Ideal Candidate for Lipoabdominoplasty?

The ideal candidates for this procedure are patients in overall good health, at a stable weight, and nonsmokers. If you are pregnant or have underlying health conditions, this procedure may not be right for you. If you are not currently pregnant but are not finished having children, the results from your lipoabdominoplasty may be undone from your next pregnancy. Patients who can maintain realistic expectations of the results of their procedure will benefit the most from this treatment.

Will This Procedure Help Me Lose Weight?

If you are overweight, this procedure may not be suitable for you. The lipoabdominoplasty is meant to remove stubborn fat, lift, and tighten the skin around the abdominal region. Though it does help patients feel and look slim, this procedure is not meant to be a procedure that removes a bulk of weight from your body and should not be considered an alternative to natural ways to lose weight, such as dieting and exercise.

What Is the Lipoabdominoplasty Procedure Like?

The lipoabdominoplasty procedure begins with liposuction. Fatty tissue is filled with saline solution and then removed with suction. The body contouring available with liposuction is impressive. After the liposuction is completed, the traditional tummy tuck is performed. The result is a more defined waistline that will allow you to show off your new form, giving you a new lease on life, ready to face the world with confidence.

Are There Any Risks With Lipoabdominoplasty?

As with any surgery, the lipoabdominoplasty procedure can have a few risks. These include:

  • Bruising
  • Swelling
  • Scarring
  • Redness
  • Tenderness
  • Pain to the touch
  • Soreness
  • Damage to the tissue
  • Infection

Following your procedure, it is most common to experience soreness, redness, swelling, and some tenderness while your body is in its first few days of recovery. However, if you experience more serious side effects, such as infection, it’s essential to address it immediately. Under the care of Dr. Spence or Dr. Ovalle, whose expertise in plastic surgery provides high-quality results, patient care is always of the utmost priority at My New Beauty, and these risks can often be avoided.

What Is Recovery After Lipoabdominoplasty Like?

You will be able to return to your home on the day of your procedure. Drains will be installed, and the area will be bandaged. Dr. Spence or Dr. Ovalle will instruct you on proper aftercare. A compression garment will be provided to help aid in the reduction of swelling and should be worn for six weeks. You will be placed on limited activity, and Dr. Spence or Dr. Ovalle will explain the restrictions and the expectations for healing time. Most people see the final results after a few months.

What Are the Benefits of Lipoabdominplasty?

With lipoabdominoplasty, combining a tummy tuck and liposuction can lead to a stronger core. Not only will this procedure help remove stubborn pockets of fat surrounding your abdomen, but it will also help strengthen the surrounding muscles, allowing for improved posture, a straighter spine, and deep breaths. A stronger core can also help relieve pressure from the joints in your legs.

If you are someone who has recently lost a significant amount of weight but is finding it hard to get rid of the fat around your stomach, this procedure can help you achieve not only achieve your goal weight but also push you closer to toning or redefining your body’s shape. The results from the lipoabdominoplasty can also lead to improved self-confidence in patients.
