Straight talk on breast augmentation, breast enhancement, breast enlargement and breast implants.
Breast augmentation, breast enhancement or breast enlargement can have a dramatic effect on a woman's life. Positive changes in sensuality, better fitting clothing with improved body contour and self esteem are but a few of the benefits gained from breast implants.
Dr. Spence believes in a woman's choice when it comes to breast augmentation surgery and has developed a very busy practice through "The Natural Look" breast augmentation. It is important that women keep up-to-date with the options for breast augmentation. Now more than ever there are different shaped implants to produce a variety to the shape and size of the breasts depending on a woman's choice. (anatomic implants, teardrop implants, round implants).
Planning "The Natural Look" breast augmentation takes time, often one to two hours during your consultation. If a woman would take two hours to choose a dress or bathing suit why not take two hours to choose the right breast implant?
The shape of the implant you choose can to some degree determine the final shape of the breast depending on the tightness of the skin, the position of the implant (behind the muscle vs. in front of the muscle) and the shape of your chest.
"Thank you all so much for your kindness & professionalism during my surgery visits! My "surgical experience" from beginning to end could not have been any better! You guys make a great team!"

The placement of the implant behind the muscle vs. in front of the muscle is a frequent debate, each having their pros and cons. The thin patient with very little breast tissue would be better off with the breast implant placed behind the muscle, while the body builder with well developed muscle would be better off with implants in front of the muscle. Your choice should be based on your particular set of circumstances.
Saline breast implants are approved by the FDA and are available to the public. Dr. Spence places silicone gel breast implants through an investigative study. Ask about the difference between saline and silicone implants during your consultation.
Breast implants come in high profile, low profile and moderate profile. This can sometimes be a little confusing. A high profile implant will give more projection to the nipples and a 'busty' look. A moderate profile implant will round out the chest.
How does a woman decide which implant is best for her in addition to guidance from her surgeon, try them on. This gives an idea of the volume and cup size with which you will be comfortable. Most women are happiest with their decision when they participate in choosing their implants.
The dramatic or subtle change in body contour produced by breast augmentation can bring about emotional change for a short period of time. A woman may feel that she is too large immediately following surgery when the breasts are swollen but then becomes accustomed to the size and wishes she had chosen the larger size. At your consultation with Dr. Spence it is important to let him know your true feelings about breast size.
There are many myths about recovery most patients in Dr. Spence's practice are able to return to work in 5 to 7 days. being able to raise the arms above their heads the night of surgery.
"Thank you so much for your professionalism and caring attitudes. I am so happy with the results of my surgery. Thanks again for everything."
