Facing Facts With Fillers

Our Orlando medical spa now uses long-lasting fillers almost exclusively. Here's why:
There are a plethora of fillers on the market, all advertised to make you look younger in a few minutes. Many practitioners are injecting these fillers in patients every six months. Because of this, I feel that patients are experiencing "filler fatigue." After all, no one wants to be injected more often than necessary.
For first-time filler patients at Hillcrest Dermatology & Plastic Surgery, I often choose shorter-acting fillers such as JUVÉDERM. Orlando patients learn that once I achieve the facial form the patient desires, I quickly graduate to longer-acting fillers. To achieve these results, I like using RADIESSE® and Sculptra® Aesthetic. They both promote collagen stimulation and result in a natural looking appearance. These products, however, can't be used everywhere or for every patient, so for some patients I use a long-lasting facial filler such as Perlane® or JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus.
Many Orlando day spas avoid using more permanent fillers because they fear the results may not be reversible. Proper planning, however, can eliminate this fear. Planning before administering injectables produces longer-lasting results with less downtime, leaving patients with their desired goals.
