The Wide and Wonderful World of Injectables and Fillers

Location! Location! Location! And I'm not talking about real estate or the location of our medical spa in Orlando. I'm talking about the numerous locations where injectables and fillers can be placed to rejuvenate and restore your facial features. It's location that makes the difference between simply being injected with BOTOX® Cosmetic in Orlando to relax muscles that cause facial lines and receiving injections that raise the arch of the eyebrows, lift the tails of the brows and minimize drooping eyelids.

How do you ensure all that - and more - without looking "frozen"? Again: It's all about location. The most artistic element of any injectable and/or filler treatment hinges on the selection of your treatment site(s).

Why does location matter? Along with a solid understanding of facial anatomy, your aesthetic provider should appreciate the origination and pathway of those hollows, lines and sagging as well as the boundaries within which the restoration should occur. Additionally, like an artist, he or she should incorporate the illusion and shadowing of your facial structure and skin coloration. Finally, your aesthetic provider should have an eye for subtly and movement.

Really? Does it take all of this? Yes, it does. And, that's what makes the difference between ordinary results and great ones - between appearing "corrected" and having people say, "You look fabulous. What have you been doing?"

So, how do you ensure that the best injection locations are selected? Well, you can't, but your aesthetic provider can. The location - or locations - is in the "eyes of the beholder," aka your aesthetic provider.

At Hillcrest Dermatology & Plastic Surgery, facial rejuvenation fillers and injectables, such as JUVÉDERM®, RADIESSE®, Perlane®, Restylane®, Sculptra® and BOTOX, are carefully selected based on location to achieve some of the following:

  • Smooth nasolabial folds and marionette lines that frame the nose, mouth and jaw.
  • Reduce fine lines and wrinkles on the chin and around the eyes and mouth.
  • Diminish the appearance of acne scars.
  • Restore youthful volume to the cheeks, lips and temporal area.
  • Give a subtle lift to the brows and the corners of the mouth.
  • Enhance the contour of the jawline.

Under my guidance, facial rejuvenation protocols are individually designed for each patient. And, on each return trip to refresh results, those protocols are carefully re-assessed prior to treatment. Depending on the filler or combination of fillers selected, the treatment sites and the quantities used, in an hour or less you can turn back the hands of time.

Using knowledge and experience to choose the right product, quantities and - most importantly - the right injection locations, a skilled facial rejuvenation practitioner can help you rediscover your youthful look quickly and easily.

I have been a patient of Dr. Spence twice now. I didn't hesitate to contact him when I was ready to move forward with my adominoplasty. It has been a long and, at times, rough recovery but Dr. Spence and his staff have been right by my side every step of the way.
