Which Lip Augmentation Option Is Best for Me?

I'm proud to be one of the few plastic surgeons in Orlando who offers a full range of options for individuals seeking lip augmentation. Some patients want to erase fine lip lines and wrinkles that have developed with age, and some simply want to plump up their naturally thin lips. I offer a few solutions:
- Chemical peels and lasers: These treatments are good for smoothing away fine lines and wrinkles, particularly on the upper lip. Laser treatments are non-invasive and require nearly no downtime. Chemical peels may require some downtime for your skin to recover, but many patients appreciate how effective the quick, affordable treatments can be. Both lasers and peels can be repeated regularly to maintain your results.
- Dermal fillers: I can inject your lips with these products to fill in wrinkles on the lips and around the borders of them. The results last 6 to 9 months, depending on which product is used, and treatments can be repeated. Dermal filler injections require almost no downtime.
- Fat grafting: This process uses your own fat - liposuctioned from an area where it is plentiful, such as the abdomen or thighs - to plump up and fill in the lips. Because of the liposuction step, some recovery time is necessary, but that step also brings the added bonus of fat reduction in the donor area. The results of this natural solution can be very long-lasting, although more than one injection session may be necessary.
Which option is right for you depends on the degree to which you want to plump up your lips and the extent of wrinkles you'd like to fill in. I can evaluate your condition and your goals during a consultation.
